Thanks to all those who wrote about the boot problems I was having with 
my 3B1.  I finally opend the box and reseated all the connectors and
chips.  It now works fine and boots immediately.  I found out that this
machine had been assembled Aug '86 (I bought it new Aug '87) so that may
account for the problems.
