Try "Reflection 7" (from Walker, Richer & Quinn). It is an hp2627 emulator
(full color, graphics, block mode, et. al.) that also provides you with many
frills like file transfer and typeahead (for MPE systems). It has a *very*
powerful command language to automate data transfer between the PC and your
mainframe (U*x or MPE). 

Bit expensive (~$500), but worth every penny. It has my unqualified personal
recommendation.
