Because I do not consider myself much of an electrical engineer, I am thinking of getting a hard card vs. a hard disk. I have only seen a few of these advertised. Why is this? There are all kinds of hard disk kits, on sale almost everywhere. I am currently looking at a Flashcard-30 from CompuAdd in Austin TX for $339. Has anyone had any problems with this drive or this company? (I will accept positive feedback also). The drive is a Miniscribe 30 MB 65 ms drive with a Western Digtial controller. It comes with a one-year limited warranty and some backup software. 1. is Miniscribe a good drive maker? I have heard alot of complaints lately about Seagate, but they also probably sell more drives. Other than that, I at least have heard of Miniscribe. 2. What is limited about a limited warranty? The time, or what I do to the thing in installing it? Anyone had any problems with mail order houses not honoring their warranties? Is this a good move, or am I ripping myself off? How easy is it for a hardware novice to install a hard drive kit? This would entail taking out one of my floppy drives. Has anyone done this on a Leading Edge D? Please reply by e-mail, anyone else with similar questions can e-mail me for a summary.
