This is the first version where the tape drive works exactly as it should, including recovery from write errors, without dropping the 386 clock rate to 8 mHz. There is a newer half length Everex tape interace board, but nobody I know has been able to get it to work. The 2.3 tape driver also has code to support 120/150 MB tape drives.
