Austin, Tx Lines: 21 I just finished reviving an old 20Meg hard card. I had replaced it with a 40Meg 1/2 height drive when it went south. The hard card is a Tandon TM 362 with a WD 1002A-WX1 controller. The 40Meg drive is a Miniscribe 3650 with a WD WDXT-GEN controller. My question is: is there a way I can run both of these drives on my PC? I remember some discussion a while back about changing the interrupt vector on a controller so that 2 controllers can coexist in a PC. Is there a way I can do this with one controller? Any answers or comments will be appreciated. P.S. When my hard card quit working it did this: when powering up the PC it would sound normal for about 2 seconds, then make a click noise and the motor would slow back down. I guess the motor that spins the disks was being overloaded or something and popping a breaker. What I did to fix this was leave it on a shelf for a year then try again. I had to cycle the power to the drive many times before it would start. Does any one know anything about this problem? When it went out I sent it back to Tandon since it was under warrenty (<1 year) but they sent it back saying they were the EOM (the mail order house I got it from had gone out of business :-( ). Again any comments will be appreciated. Dale Stevens - Somewhere on this big net.
