I am in desparate need of some information concerning software standards, tools, techniques, etc. dealing with the Japanese alphabets: Katakana, Hiragana, and mostly, Kanji. I would like as much information as I can get about: - ANSI, ISO, or similar standards on computer encoding of Japanese characters, and other DBCS (Double Byte Character Set) character sets. - Commercially available programming extensions/tools for both syllabic input of Japanese words and graphic output of Japanese characters. A licensable Kanji dictionary with software interface would be ideal. The proposed target machine is the IBM AT, but information on others such as the Macintosh are welcome. - Commercially available fonts for Japanese alphabets. - Other leads, hints, anecdotes, or miscellany. Thank you, Doomo Arigatoo, Brent Southard Sazaado Burento -- Brent Southard | Everybody's trying to be a friend of mine, Usenet: ...well!brent | Even a dog can shake hands. - W.
