About a year ago, a version of nettrek was submitted to be posted to 
comp.binaries.mac, but the author wrote stating that the version in
question was full of bugs, and requesting that I not post it.  I
understood that he had/was trying to release it as a commercial
product.  Has anyone seen it?

In any case, I would assume that as a commercial product, he'd
support the latest and greatest Mac hardware.
