Message-ID: <20726@tut.cis.ohio-state.edu> Date: 25 Aug 88 15:43:28 GMT Sender: news@tut.cis.ohio-state.edu Organization: The Ohio State University Dept of Computer & Information Science Lines: 11 Does anyone know what kind of speed increases for a 4th Dimension database (+150000 records)using Tops by using ethernet instead of appletalk? I had talked with a developer in Michigan who said he was getting around a 5X increase which to me makes sense with ethernet being around 40X faster than appletalk. On the other hand I read in Macworld something about only a 30-40% increase with a small network. Does anyone have the strait scoop (experience is welcome)? steven neruda (neruda@tut.cis.ohio-state.edu) sorry, no cute saying today.
