I just booted a virgin 6.0 on a Mac SE and could not get this to happen.
Perhaps you are using some wierd INIT or CDEV.  I'd appreciate it if you
could narrow it down a little more.  If this really is a bug, I'd want to
ensure that it gets fixed.
