We would like one of these to be capable of running AT-compatible software. However, we have a concern that such a system may not be able to deliver the same performance as, say, a 10Mh AT compatible. The one product we have heard about is called Mac286, a Mac II coprocessor board. I'd like to hear from any Mac II owners/users who have experience with the Mac286 (or other products). - How is the performance? Slower than what one would expect from a MS-DOS based system (e.g. a 10Mh 286- based machine)? - Does such a coprocessor mandate added memory for best results? (and how much?) - Does it require a 5.25" drive? - Are there certain kinds of software that run more poorly than others? Please send me email, since I do not read this newsgroup regularly, and thanks! Dean File UNC School of Medicine, Chapel Hill, NC dfile@ecsvax.UUCP dfiled@uncmed.UUCP
