Adaptec - a make of SCSI hard disk controllers has come out with an Ethernet connector that will run off the SCSI port on a mac. According to the articles, it can handle both thin and thick ethernet (and maybe a third type as well) with just a plug in module. The software to run the protocols is downloadable through the SCSI port. It is a box about the size of a modem that plugs into the SCSI port on the mac. The price I saw mentioned was in the vicinity of $400-$500.
