Jerome, there is an execellent book on writing XCMDs called "XCMD's for HyperCard" by Gary Bond (put out by MIS: Press). It is filled with example XCMDs in MPW Pascal and LSC (almost every example is in both languages). It is practically a required text for XCMD/XFCN writers and is clearly written to boot (I'll leave off all disparaging comments about Inside Mac). You can also order a disk that contains all the source examples discussed in the book (though most of the source that's general enough to be worth copying is short enough to enter by hand w/out much problem).
