I tried to make splain.fmt so I could use SliTeX and seem to be
missing most of the TFM files it needs.  I am using the latest
versions of TeX and the CM fonts. My sfonts.tex is dated 12/17/85.  It
is looking for a lot of fonts that start with 'l', 'i' (invisible), or
'il'.  Below is what it can't find. I have many or all of these fonts,
if you strip the prefix. Do I derive the missing ones from those, or
do I get them elewhere? 

lcmss8, lcmssi8, lcmssb8, ilcmss8, icmmi8, icmsy8, ilcmssi8, ilcmssb8,
icmtt8, ilasy8, icmex10
