I have begun playing with uustat on SCO Xenix 2.2.1 and noticed the
R_stat file was disappearing after every uucp request.  I believe
the problem is caused by not having /usr/spool/uucp and /usr/lib/uucp
on the same file system.  The error message is 

link /usr/lib/uucp/R_stat fails in us_crs.c

when uucp is run with -x9.
