Pattis, Richard E., "Karel the Robot: A Gentle Introduction to the Art of
Programming", John Wiley & Sons, 1981.  This book is still available; it is
in its 16 or so printing.

Tomek, "The First Book of Josef: An Introduction to Computer Programming",
Prentice-Hall 1983.  I frequently see this book in stores, but I am not sure
if it is still in print.
