Message-ID: <2229@ssc-vax.UUCP> Date: 15 Sep 88 15:58:25 GMT Organization: Boeing Aerospace Corp., Seattle WA Lines: 27 Hello again, A few articles ago I asked why I wasn't being notified about new incomming mail. I gave an example of my /etc/inetd.conf and the /etc/services entry for biff and comsat. Well.....I've received many (polite I might add!) responses from concerned parties suggesting that I may not haved run 'biff y' in my login files (.profile for sh, .login and .cshrc for csh). Yes, I have biff autmatically set to 'y' on login and I still am not notified. I've considered the thought that my /dev/console permissions won't allow write by daemon, so after a chmod 777 I still get a blank stare when new mail arrives. Still a confused mail recipient...Ray -- | Ray E. Saddler III | __ __ __ __ | Path: ..!ssc-vax!ray3rd | | Boeing Aerospace | / / / // //| // | From: ray3rd@ssc-vax.UUCP | | P.O.
