I don't know why. The current discussion is about *PORTING* GNU tools to MINIX, not about *DISTRIBUTING* them WITH MINIX. The enduser CAN use GCC with products which are sold for profit, otherwise it would be illegal to use GCC with either UNIX or MS-DOS, since both of these are sold for profit, the one by AT&T, the other by Microsoft. Likewise, all of the computers GNU software runs on are "products sold for profit". RMS does not want FSF software distributed with MINIX because MINIX is a commercial product, being sold for profit. But as I said, that has nothing to do with USING FSF software with MINIX -- you just need to get it from a different source. -- Wolf N.
