Message-ID: <258@decus.com.au> Date: 6 Sep 88 22:53:32 GMT Organization: DECUS, Australian Chapter Lines: 24 A DECUS member in Sydney Australia has requested some help with a problem as follows. They are using WHITESMITH's "C" on a PDP 11/73 based system running RSX. The "C" tasks end up being very large (around 400K bytes for a normal program that is around 100K bytes on a PC). The programs seem to run very slowly - appear to be CPU bound and dont seem to run as fast as on the PC. Questions are as follows:- 1. Are there known problems with Whitesmith's "C" under RSX. 2. How does it compare with the DECUS "C" (in library as 11-SP-18) 3. Are there other versions of "C" that will run under RSX. 4. Is there something silly about the installation/configuation that would account for the poor performance. Replies please to GEREMIN@decus.com.au Thanks in Advance.
