regarding your request on purchasing a 286 system:

I just got my new 286 from Computer Direct..  Prices good, but delivery
was screwed up...  they have been around for some time and they have
a good reputation.  i got:
286 12 Mhz 0 wait
512k
EGA (Thompson Monitor)
2400 baud modem
$1670 - not bad

I went ahead and ordered the 1 meg upgrade from BG Micro since they
had the best price on chips.  386 is nice, but most people really dont
have a need for one - thrills...
