If you have a 5.25" drive, you (temporarily or permanently, depending on how they're connected) lose the use of one 3.5" drive. I don't have any idea what kind of floppy disk controller is used in the Tandy, but it's certainly possible that it can only accomodate two drives. The standard IBM PC/XT type floppy disk controller can handle up to four.
