Lines: 25 Dave Rand (author of the popular VDE text editor) wrote a CP/M ARC program in 1982. I have full source code and executables. It was available for download from my RCP/M BBS in late 1982. The program was an assembly language version of the previous work written in PL/I by Michael Rubenstein. Both Rubenstein's original program and Rand's follow up will be made available to the court. The programs from both authors were in common use and distribution by Remote CP/M systems in 1982. The Computer Inovations C86 C compiler, I've been told, (which was supposedly used by SEA to compile the MSDOS archive program) had .ARC files on the distribution disks one received when one purchased the compiler. Cromemco's CDOS operating system, I've been told, had a program called "ARC" on their distribution disks in the early 80's. I've received dozens of messages from people who remember programs named "arc" or "ARC" on various operating systems in the 60's, 70's and early 80's. I'm sure we'll hear about more. -- Keith Petersen Arpa: W8SDZ@SIMTEL20.ARMY.MIL Uucp: {att,decwrl,harvard,lll-crg,ucbvax,uw-beaver}!simtel20.army.mil!w8sdz GEnie: W8SDZ
