Now that it is completely obvious that IBM is no longer leading the pack of PC-compatible computer manufacturers, I submit that it is time to begin a long overdue correction to the Usenet namespace. Let's make the new group comp.sys.pc.tech, or maybe even comp.sys.dos.tech, since we don't really discuss *nix on PC's, nor OS/2 (much). I'd prefer the simple 'pc', since most everyone knows what that means. Apples, Amigas, Ataris, etc are rarely confused with 'pc's, so I don't see a problem with taking the name for the PC-and-compatibles marketplace. I suppose we could use 'isa' (Industry-Standard-Architecture), but that makes me gag.
