A Mac II, possibly running MACH (see one of the recent MacWEEK's about MACH vs. BSD vs SYS V, etc), will eventually be able to run Andrew's Window Manager. Unfortunately, I have no idea what the timeframe for this will be. Before the SE was even out (but darn close), the ITC was thinking/working on running a kind of mini-Messages on the Macs... so I imagine that it can't be that far off. Sure, IBM is the big name in Andrew, and there are RT's all over campus, but is IBM going to get Andrew running on PS/2's? Probably not without some version of UNIX, and they may in fact be doing this, but I haven't seen about it yet. Has anyone else heard what's going on in this area? -/ Dave Caplinger /--------------+---------------------------------------- Microcomputer Specialist | Internet: UNOCC07%ZEUS@CRCVMS.UNL.EDU Campus Computing | UUCP: uunet!btni!unocss!dent University of Nebraska at Omaha | Bitnet: UNOCC07@UNOMA1 Omaha, NE 68182 | or dc3a+@andrew.cmu.edu ("ex-MPN Administrator")
