I sent my $25 at the end of July after I got the letter. Today I received the following (typos are all mine): ----- August 31, 1988 Dear Suitcase User: We are pleased you elected to order Suitcase 2.0 but regret to inform you that we are experiencing a minor delay in shipping. Your order is now expected to ship during the week of September 15, 1988. Your order has been placed on priority status and you will receive your copy before dealer distribution. We apologize for this delay and sincerely hope that the revised shipping date is acceptable. If not, please check the refund block and return this card at your earliest opportunity. Once again, thank you for your continued interest in Suitcase and your support of Fifth Generation Systems' products. Your cooperation and understanding are greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Fifth Generation Systems, Inc. [] Please credit my charge account or mail refund, and cancel my order for Suitcase 2.0 ----- This was an a reply postage paid card, so I can get my money back for free if I want. Since they plan to start shipping in a week, and since I like Suitcase, I won't choose that option. Just thought I'd counter some of the less good press the Suitcase people have been getting, such as the following . . . >. . . got a call from the [a different product] people saying that no, >they hadn't lost her check for the upgrade, they just don't cash them >until they ship (a pleasant contrast with Suitcase), and the release >has been delayed . . . I would just as soon they hadn't cashed my check, but they are providing a reasonable out, IMHO. /JBL UUCP: {backbone}!bbn!levin POTS: (617) 873-3463 INTERNET: levin@bbn.com
