It is worth noting that since the Kanji ROM is not present all of the kanji fonts have to at some time or other RAM resident and hence I would suspect that the system wouldn't work well with only a 1MB machine. I purchased KanjiTalk 2.0 in Japan for about 7000 yen in Akihabara. It works fine with most programs but not all. It allows romanji based input of characters to some programs. There is also a package called Sweet-Jam available from some import house here that allow japanese text to be input into american versions of programs under KanjiTalk. I do not have this program however and read about it in a Japanese Mac magazine call Mac Life.
