I have helped Apple get a significant beachhead inside the City of Saint Paul. In my department ( Public Works ) Apple has sold about 6 dozen Macs since 1984 and our example has helped sell others throughout the City. The recent price increase ( I really don't see it till October ) is quite extreme ( beyond any reasonable chip increases ) and will result in a probable loss of position ( read $$$$ ) here in the City. I am sure that our position is not unique. You can't swim upstream by overpricing your wares. C'mon Apple are all your brains in your shorts? Is this Apple's reward to those of us who have helped them get market share and profit? Make us look stupid? Thanks Apple, thanks a bunch. Good timing with IBM announcing lower priced machines and NeXt coming in October......
