I don't think it supports anon ftp anymore anyway (could be wrong). However, there are now three columbia machines which share an NFS disk with complete Info-Mac archives. Their names are CUNIX{A,B,D}.CC.COLUMBIA.EDU . Unfortunately I don't know their address numbers, but I'll try to get them in a few days. You can try yourself, but they are very new, so many places might not know them yet. The FTP files are in the directory /export, and the info-mac files (surprisingly enough) are in /export/info-mac. There are lots of other files too, for people with more than one machine (or religion :-) For the beginners: start up your FTP program. Type "open cu20a.cc.columbia.edu" answer any questions about logins or IDs with "anonymous" leave the password blank (just hit return) type "cd /export/info-mac" type "get {whatever file you want}" type "close" quit the program That's all. If you want to see what files there are, "get 00DOWNLOAD-INFO..1" or "get 00README.TXT.1" and this should get you going. Please don't mail me if you have problems, because I'm not an FTP guru, just an occasional user... ---- Alexis Rosen {allegra,philabs,cmcl2}!phri\ Writing from {harpo,cmcl2}!cucard!dasys1!alexis The Big Electric Cat {portal,well,sun}!hoptoad/ Public UNIX Best path: uunet!dasys1!alexis
