I doubt that Apple will be in for a "nasty suprise" the Next machine maybe interesting, it maybe nice, but its probably/is a UNIX box, it will be as expensive as a Mac II or more, and its an announcement (if it happens, Where have we heard this before) This does not mean it will be shipping, and that could be months....
