The simplest way to show the outline is to draw it once when you first draw the dialog. A user item is more correct, in case the dialog needs to get redrawn (a sub- dialog or FKEY can cover it). But the Finder's alerts do it wrong, so I've never felt compelled to do it right... -- Mike Morton // P.O.
