I ran into this for the first time today. Im running Sys V/AT 2.3U. The printer is turned off, a user types "lp filename" and the job is queued. Everything is fine for a few seconds and then the system slowly starts to die. No errors, just cursor disappearing, serial ports stop, etc. Luckily I was here and just happened to turn the printer on. Instantly the system freed up and everything proceeded normally, and the job printed out. Is this normal ? If so, are there any configuration steps that I can take to minimize the effects ? I'm suprized I never ran into it before. Thanks. John -- John Gayman, WA3WBU | UUCP: uunet!wa3wbu!john 1869 Valley Rd. | ARPA: john@wa3wbu.uu.net Marysville, PA 17053 | Packet: WA3WBU @ AK3P
