Given that a particular site has the option of installing Terminfo and/or Termcap, and chooses to install only one (say Termcap): If an application is compiled with Terminfo-based Curses, and a site does not have the required databases on line, what if any remedial action can the application take ? Is it reasonable to compile an application with support for both terminal control methods ? Or is this something that Curses handles internally ? Or, is it more reasonable to document the applications dependancy on one of the two methods ?
