I have been tracing for hours and get nowhere but confused. The problems I have are the following: 1: The fonts come up with a width of 0. I tried tracing the font code but the caching stuff got real confusing, I could not track down exactly how the fonts are read in. I noticed the initial installation does not create the cache directory and subdirectories but the whole thing worked correctly on a VAX even without the cache directory. 2: The speedups bomb on the RT, this is not important to me at this point. I have changed the X11.c driver to support a fake version of backing store, real backing store does not work on the RT's as of yet. If you are interested in this let me know, right now it is somewhat dependent on the RT server implementation but that is a easy but kludgey change to make. JonnyG.
