If there is not, is there an interest to write one in C or C++? SQL seems to be a standard. I hear that OSF and other "standards" committees are adopting it. I think there is a ansi definition of SQL too. I don't think database systems are only useful for large corporations who can afford to spend large dollars for Oracle, Unify etc. I know Ingress was once academic-domain but it seems that the university version is antiquated compared to the commercial version.
