We're using a USR Courier HST 9600 with MNP lev. 5 and achieve up to
15027 chars./sec. by using the 'f' protocol.

BUT: Xon/Xoff flow control must be understood by the MODEM, so most modems
     will be UNUSABLE for 'g' protocol unless you're willing to turn
     flow control on/off vor each connection - and (another problem)
     most CALLED sites don't have the chance to turn on/off flow control
     depending on the caller :-(

To avoid this you can either use:

	- Hardware flowcontrol (RTS/CTS)
	  (BEWARE: most computers "think" of RTS in a different way, than
	  most modems do)
	- Buy a smart modem, which AUTOMATICALLY turn on/off flow control
	  depending on whether the current connection is MNP controlled
	  or not (newer HSTs have the AT&I5 option)
