For those sites using Telebit Trailblazers, I have the following info:

Some companies are selling surge suppressers for the telephone lines.  I found
out the hard way that these can interfere with the PEP mode of the trailblazer.
My system kept dialing, going through the PEP stuff, then immediately 
disconnecting.  I finally removed the surge suppressor on the phone line and
everything is working OK now.  I don't know what it was doing to the modem,
but it was doing something.
