Silly me. I have been shown the light; humbled; brought up short; in other words, I have received some mail from Van. It seems that in a message to this forum some months ago, Van explained what _he_ had done with header compression, which was so far advanced of what I was planning to do that I am now sitting in the middle of my office counting my fingers and toes to see if I still have that much mental capacity :-) :-)...
