Message-ID: <4380@louie.udel.EDU> Date: 3 Oct 88 21:54:56 GMT Sender: mmdf@udel.EDU Lines: 31 I am planning to port MINIX to a INMOS-B004-compatible board with a T800 Transputer. If there anybody who has done (or is doing or intends to do) any effort in this field ? I would like to discuss any point of view which could put this project on the road. The transputer-chips have most of the kernel-mechanisms of minix, as mpx88 (equivalent) and message passing, implemented in hardware . Since the IMS-B004-board runs in a PC, the hardware-driver parts could be located in the PC. So the realisation of I/O-drivers amounts to nothing more than writing a transputer-server for the PC. The first obstacle with the whole thing is a cheap (or better public- domain) C-Compiler . Is there a GNU-C (or any other public domain) implementation for the INMOS T414 or T800 ? Is it possible to start with the MINIX-C Compiler Source (not the complete ACK) ? I would be appreciative of any help or hints !
