The copy I had in mind would take: compress infile and read infile and write to infile.Z. Currently the source that I was looking at did some switching with stdout and other file usage that the system I am on just doesnt like. (Yea I know that sounds like a C problem, but I just was trying to see if anyone had the basic source that 'read in a part of the file and compressed it and wrote it to the outfile', or whatever it does). Also, does it seem like it does a lot 'SYSTEM' defining throughout the program? With a large part of the code like that it was hard for me to try and set it up on our system. Any help would be appreciated. For anyone that cares, I am on a PRIME. Thanks, Paul Linton -- UUCP: cbosgd!ukma!ukecc!linton CSNET: linton@engr.uky.edu BITNET: cn0001pl@UKCC
