speaking as student-at-large i have to defend my someday-to-be
alma mater. 
It appears that cunyvm has for some reason decided to renumber
messages and forward them to udel. Look at the headers. So udel 
forwards them on. But from what i can see here the problem is 
cunyvm.
Just guessing, but it cunyvm IS a vm system, i.e. ibm ...
