Now, here's the beef !!! Why don't we try and aim for an expanded and more "standardized" CLI editing features ??? As for ME, I would prefer editing functions that mimicked EMACS editing commands, i.e.: ^p Previous Command | ^a Go to Start of Line ^e Go to End of Line | ^k Kill to End of Line M-d Delete Word (could be ^w instead) and so on... It would make it a lot easier to remember to, at least for those who use EMACS (what about "cat >ENV:CLI-Edit-style DME ^D" or, or... B^) and it would be great for "cat >foo.txt", I would get a full fledged editor under cat and, and... Ok, I'm cracking up, but wouldn't it be nice to have some more CLI editing features ??? >------------ >Eric Kennedy >ejkst@cisunx.UUCP --Mike -- UUCP : mikhe@majestix.liu.se OR /// {seismo, mcvax, munnari}!enea!liuida!majestix!mikhe /// ARPA : mikhe%majestix.{ida.liu.se,UUCP}@seismo.CSS.GOV \\\/// SNAIL: Mike Henry, Alsattersg. 3C:20, S-582 51 Linkoping SWEDEN \XX/
