As near as I can tell, if you |turn XON/XOFF processing on you get it both ways. Yep, you are right. With the current (1.2. & 1.3) serial device there is no way to set Xon-Xoff only on one side. Bryce Nesbitt of CBM is rewriting the serial device and I swear he told me that the new one for 1.4 will support separate input and output X-on/X-off. In the meantime, the only solution is to by-pass the built in X-on/X-off and do your own checking for CTRL-S, CTRL-Q. -- Marco Papa -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= uucp:...!pollux!papa BIX:papa ARPAnet:pollux!papa@oberon.usc.edu "There's Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Diga!" -- Leo Schwab [quoting Rick Unland] -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
