All I did was boot up under GS/OS, then use the Installer to copy all the appropriate stuff to the Sider. According to the folks in tech support at First Class Peripherals, the D4a is a SSCI compatible drive (although I am not quite clear on how this differs from an actual SSCI drive). Furthermore, they told me that they expect to have a driver that runs under GS/OS that will completely bypass the ROM on the controller card (which has to run a 1 Mhz) and work directly with the hardware in the drive, significantly increasing the speed of the drive. The driver is supposed to be available in early-middle November. I take it the rest of you aren't using a D4a drive? Mine hasn't given me any trouble under GS/OS. A couple of related notes: Beach comber (from ProSEL) crashes under GS OS. WordPerfect 2.0 is crippled under GS/OS, you need to upgrade WP to 2.1. Does anyone know if Bredon can be reached on this net? Kevin Lepard Bitnet: Sasquatch@albion.bitnet
