The Spectre 128 runs on any ST (old, new, Mega, non-Mega). The only thing that changes is the amount of RAM available to the Mac. On a 520 ST you can only emulate a 128 or 256K Mac, which is a fairly limited system. If you really want to run Mac software you need at least a 1 Meg ST (upgraded 520, 1040, whatever), that gives you enough RAM to run almost all Mac programs including HyperCard.
