The difference between (bytes used + > bytes available) and (bytes available on an empty disk) is the internal > fragmentation plus subdirectory space. (Root directory and FAT space > is not counted in the "bytes available" field for an empty disk). By the way, there's a bug in Turbodos that returns the wrong number of bytes free: it seems always to overestimate the free space. I only noticed this after checking there was enough space on a diskette, and then trying to copy to it, and getting a disk full error. Try writing a small file to an empty disk with Turbodos loaded and do a show info - it told me the right number of bytes used, but said that there were the same number of bytes free as before I wrote the file.
