I realize that these filenames are illegal in MS-DOS (because you can't have more than 3-letter extensions). It would be handy to be able to set up my personal preferences for vi, e.g. 'set eightbits', 'map! ^[OB ^[^[OB' etc. without having to explicitly set them EVERY time I enter the editor.
