I am suprised your keyboard works at all.  You see, the keyboard and
mouse both have small CPUs in them, with registers, and when you
unplug these devices you reset all the registers (some of which have
been programmed by the Mac SE when the machine was booted).

So in general, don't expect your ADB devices to work if you unplug
them after the SE/II has booted up.
