I KNOW that Apple is working on this. Note that I work several miles away from Apple and I know several current AC employees that unfortunately do not know the precise answer but know that projects are underway. In fact, two separate AC people I know told me that they have heard that a VM MacOS has been built and is running! Now I understand that a company has to 'protect' its developer base and secrecy builds a mystique that gets free PR, but geez, we sometimes have a hell of a time convincing some people to buy Macs when VM does not appear to have any real support within Apple (except for the 'Oh, gee, then you should buy A/UX crowd (and build Rome from scratch).' Sometimes it seems that the power in Apple is controlled by evangelists and relatively lay users rather than computer scientists. I mean, Multics had virtual memory in the 60s! Pretty basic stuff here. Does anyone out there know? Can't anything be said? Isn't it about TIME?!!! phil...
