Now I have this useless floppy (my Mac II already has two floppies), and I also have a cousin who owns an Apple II GS who would love to get something for nothing... The question is, is this mechanism the same as the one used for the Apple? I know that Apple made several different drives, some of which work with both machines and some of which don't. If I can use this unit with the II GS, what are the pinouts for the cable I will have to build? Is there anyplace I can buy a cheap drive enclosure (i.e., less than $20 for a box of sheet metal)? Please reply by mail, as I doubt many people are interested. If you want to know about this, drop me a line and I'll summarize anything I get. Thanks in advance. ---- Alexis Rosen {allegra,philabs,cmcl2}!phri\ Writing from {harpo,cmcl2}!cucard!dasys1!alexis The Big Electric Cat {portal,well,sun}!hoptoad/ Public UNIX Best path: uunet!dasys1!alexis or try: alexis@ccnysci.UUCP
