This is most evident in the Key Caps desk accessory. When I am using Key Caps, the screen continually toggles between the images of an extended Mac Plus keyboard and an (original) unextended keyboard. Because this is happening, keystrokes are accepted only sporadically. I have empirically found that if I have a disk in the internal floppy drive, or simply hook up an external floppy drive, the problem is lessened although not completely eradicated. My system configuration is as follows: an original 128k Mac, which was one of the first to be upgraded to a Plus (it has the very first Plus ROMS); 400k external drive; unextended keyboard; 40M CMS MacStack; and standard 1M RAM. Any suggestions as to where the problem may lie (and how to fix it without an Apple dealer) would be appreciated. Please respond via EMAIL, and I will post a summary if there is enough interest. -Joshua Golub
