Has anyone heard of an adapter that will let me run a high resolution
monochrome monitor off of an EGA adapter?  How about using a mono monitor
off of a CGA adapter?

I am asking this question because we have been using high resolution
monochrome monitors (IBM 5151s) with QUAD EGA+ boards to run MS Windows
and we are hoping to add a mono monitor and mono adapter to each machine
in order to be able to debug MS Windows using the new Codeview without
having to use a dumb terminal off of the serial port.

Using a mono monitor with the QUAD EGA+ board requires that board to be in
mono mode (the board also supports a CGA mode) which uses the same video
memory addresses as a real monochrome adapter.  This is a problem for us
because we are hoping not to have to go out and by a lot of color monitors
to use with our QUAD EGA+ adapters.  What I am hoping to find is some sort
of converter/adapter/? which will take the color output from our EGA adapters
and convert that into a signal that will drive a high resolution monochrome
monitor (such as an IBM 5151).  It is also important to us that the resolution
of the mono display be comparable to the resolution of a mono display with
a high resolution mono adapter.

Is this possible or am I pushing the limits of our technology?
